Who we are
This policy covers bookingwish.com (“BookingWish”, “we”, “us”). For any privacy question, email hello@bookingwish.com.
Information stored on your device
You do not need an account to use BookingWish. The countries and regions you select, your chosen theme, the name you type on a map, and any photo you add are saved in your browser’s local storage. Photos are resized in your browser and are never uploaded to us. You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Information collected when you use the site
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We use this to keep the site secure and working, and keep it only as long as needed for that.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
Third-party services
Some features load content from other companies, who receive your IP address and browser details when they do:
- Our flight search partner runs the search on our flights page. Searches you run there are processed by that partner and the airlines and agencies it works with, under their privacy policies.
- Affiliate partners and networks. When you click a partner link, the partner and network may set cookies to record that the visit came from us, so that a booking can be credited. We add a reference to the place you were viewing (for example the airport code) to the link; we do not send your name or contact details.
- Wikimedia serves the place photos and summaries shown in place guides.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers. See the cookie policy for the cookies involved.
Legal bases
Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website for server logs, and on your request when you contact us. Partner cookies are set by those partners when you choose to visit their sites.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of personal information we hold about you, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To make a request, email hello@bookingwish.com.
Children
BookingWish is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
